"Crap, we could be in trouble." muttered Aleu. She knew how dangerous Roscoe and DeSoto were and didn't wanna fight them, let alone face Dr. Facilier.

"Vitani! What are you doing here?" The voice came. Zira. She was quite angry seeing her daughter here, or her daughter at all. "If Scar were here..." she muttered but cut it off. Aleu. Aleu had a scar, like Zira's own dear Taka, or Scar as he called himself. "Well, what do we have here?"
"My daughter." Balto snarled at the lioness. He would do whatever he could to protect his Aleu, even if it meant Zira was going to kill him.

Aleu widened her eyes and darted behind Balto. She knew Zira was a threat to a reformed villain, like herself. Aleu recalled all those stories Vitani had told her and Patch. The young wolfdog was downright scared and afraid of going dark again.

Rudolph gulped. He hadn't expected Zira to show up so suddenly. There was no running away now. He had to protect Aleu. Bravely, the young reindeer stepped forward and glared at Zira. Don't worry, Aleu. My light will keep you from the dark. he thought. "That's right. Aleu is Balto's daughter, not yours. Now why don't you leave?" Rudolph asked.
Scamp could only stare in shock as Rudolph stepped forward. Was the reindeer out of his mind? "We could be in big trouble." he said to Aleu.

"Your daughter?" Zira said with a smirk on her face. "I would easily trade Vitani for her. She looks like she would impress Scar. She looks like she could be... a queen." Red eyes darted to Vitani. "Unlike you could ever be! You would never be a great queen seeing how you don't train for Scar! But, you, pup, you have the makings for a great queen one day." Zira grinned at Aleu. "And you could be a great king, deer. Wouldn't that be nice? No one to tell you what to do?"
"Leave my daughter alone." Balto snarled. He wouldn't take Vitani as a daughter, he would only have Aleu. "She's my girl, not your's."

"Papa, maybe I should. I mean, I know I love Rudolph but deep inside, my heart cries for Patch. I still love him." she whispered to Balto, but loud enough for Zira to overheard.

"Aleu, don't listen to her! She's just trying to get you to join her!" Rudolph cried as he quickly turned and faced the wolf-dog. He didn't want to see Aleu change back. Not when they still had a chance to keep her on their side.

"Patch?" Zira mused to herself. If she killed Patch when Aleu came on her side, she could easily get her bent on revenge, blaming Vitani for murdering Patch. Yes. It could work. "Yes, Patch. Patch has missed you. I'm sure he would be heartbroken if you killed him in battle sometime." The lioness spoke to Aleu.
"Aleu, you may still see Patch, just stay here!" Balto said, turning away from Zira now.

Aleu smiled when she heard Zira. "I knew he still loved me!" she said as she wagged her tail.

"Yes. You should come with us now." Zira said. She turned her head at Vitani, her expression seemed to say she could do nothing and Zira did all the work. She turned back to Aleu. "Now, you and Vitani are coming with me."
"No! I'm not losing Aleu again!" Balto growled. If he lost Aleu twice, he had no idea what to do.

"But papa, I need to listen to my heart! Patch needs me and I need him!" Aleu said to Balto. She loved the dalmatian too much to stay as a hero.

Then, without warning, Rudolph ran forward and rammed his antlers into Zira. Being as stubby as they were, they probably didn't do much damage to the lioness, but Rudolph wanted to make a point. "I'm not going to let you take Aleu away!" he cried.
Scamp, having had enough of just standing around, decided to help as well. He ran forward and clamped down on Zira's tail with his teeth. He thought if he acted as a distraction, it would be enough to distract Zira away from Rudolph, Aleu, and Balto.

"See? If you were anything like Scar, she'd stay with you." Zira sneered at Balto. "Let's go now. Vitani, when we go back, I'd like to have a few words with you." Those words were definitely not going to be pleasant. Though, shocking, the reindeer attacked her. "Fool!" She snarled at the reindeer, but yowled in pain at Scamp.
No. His daughter had slipped through his paws again. He bent down beside her. "Come back whenever you need me. Try to sneak over whenever you can if you can't stay here." he whispered to her. Or, maybe not. Rudolph and Scamp were fighting for Aleu.

Aleu smiled. "Thank you for understanding papa." she whispered to him before bounding over to Zira. "Guys, can't you see I have to listen to my heart?!?!" she cried out to Scamp and Rudolph.

Scamp then let go, realizing Aleu was right. "Rudy, maybe we should let her go." he said as he went over to Balto.
Rudolph's ears drooped. He didn't want Aleu to leave, but trying to force her to stay wouldn't do any good. He took a few steps away from Zira and sighed. "I guess you're right, Aleu. You know where to find us if you want to hang out with us again." he said, giving her a sad smile as he did.
